This is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made

Ah, spring is in the air! It’s that time of year when our thoughts turn to the freshness of life. As the days grow warmer trees are budding, tiny plants are poking up through the earth, flowers are blooming and the birds are singing. Days like this encourage me to join with them and I sing “This is the day which the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it”.

But days like this are not the only time I should rejoice and be glad. The Lord has made all of my days and I need to choose to rejoice in each one. I’m not saying that is easy, but it is a choice. When I remind myself that God does not allow anything to touch my life that He cannot use for good (Romans 8:28), then I will find a way to rejoice. Even if the only thing I can rejoice in is knowing that God is with me always. He said so. He said “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. He said it to Moses in Deuteronomy 31:6 and 8. He said it to Joshua in Joshua 1:9. Then He said it to all His children in Hebrews 13:5.

Even when I may feel that I am alone I rely on His word and know He is with me. Feelings are just that feelings. They fluctuate with my moods and the circumstances surrounding me, so I have to think on God’s truth. He will never leave me. My God is faithful. He keeps His word. I know this from past experiences. Therefore I know I can continue to trust Him in my present circumstances and with anything that comes to me in the future. God is so good to carry me through heartaches and stressful situations.

So today I will march forth with singing and I will praise my God who is faithful. ‘The Lord is my strength and song. And He has become my salvation. He is my God and I will praise Him….’ (Exodus 15:2).

Take a bit of time today to praise God for who He is. Then march forth and…..

Be a blessing today,

Terisa

There have been many days when I have relied on God’s promise that He will work all things for the good of those who love Him. Once I remember that promise, I often go from struggling to get through the day to actively trying to find a purpose and some good in the day. Once I do that, trying to find the good or a purpose for the bad almost becomes like a game.. and then I usually forget to be stressed or upset and I don’t have to struggle to make it through the day.
